My Thoughts on Education

This article, “9 Benefits of Reading With Your Kids According to Science,” points to the great benefits for children who develop a love of reading at an early age. Learning to read early on has supported long lasting effects. It starts in childhood with brain development and reading comprehension, and lasts through emerging adulthood with excellent language skills, logic skills, and emotional recognition.

The benefits are not only for children, but for parents as well. It allows us to not only spend valuable bonding time with our children, but gives us permission to read books like Curious George without being embarrassed! While the books may be geared toward children, there’s no reason we can’t enjoy them too! While bonding with your child is the most important, re-discovering your inner child comes along as the added benefit.
