My Thoughts on Education

Former GOP presidential hopeful Jeb Bush said he’s currently in between jobs right now.

During a skit with Jimmy Kimmel at the start of the annual Emmy Awards, Bush played a limo driver — “You know you can make $12 an hour driving for Uber,” he said — that gave advice to the nervous late-night television show host who was nominated for an Emmy.

“There’s a lot of competition, so probably not,” Kimmel said when Bush asked whether he would win.

“Here’s what I know, if you run a positive campaign, the voters will ultimately make the right choice,” Bush said.

Bush did not call out GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, but did tell Kimmel he was joking about the positive campaign. During the primary election, Trump attacked his opponents, including Bush, who Trump said was “low energy.”

The anti-Trump sentiments continued in various spots throughout the night.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, when accepting her best comedic actress award for “Veep,” said: “I’d also like to take this opportunity to personally apologize for the current political climate. I think that ‘Veep’ has torn down the wall between comedy and politics. Our show started out as a political satire but it now feels more like a sobering documentary.”

Hillary Clinton also wasn’t left out from the Emmy’s.

Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon thanked the Democratic nominee, who McKinnon impersonates on SNL, in her acceptance speech on Sunday.

Clinton responded on twitter, congratulating the comedian.
