Congressional Black Caucus members are marching to the Justice Department Thursday to call attention to the killings of African-Americans by police. The protest comes after another night of upheaval in Charlotte N.C., that left one civilian on life support and police officers injured.

Members of the CBC will head to the Justice Department to hand-deliver a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch and hold a press conference calling for more police accountability.

“We want the full weight of the Justice Department involved in this situation,” CBC Chairman G.K. Butterfield (D-N.C.) said.

The CBC protest follows the killings of two black men, Keith Lamont Scott in Charlotte and Terence Crutcher in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by police in recent days.

In the Tulsa case, videos show an unarmed Crutcher with his hands in the air before he was shot. DOJ has already opened an investigation into his death.

The Charlotte police and a woman identifying herself as Scott’s daughter dispute whether he was armed at the time of the shooting, according to the Charlotte Observer. The CBC’s march to DOJ was first reported by The Root.
