If it walks, talks and balks like Donald Trump, then it probably is Donald Trump. But for his newest celebrity impersonator, Alec Baldwin, the comparisons are getting a bit too real.
The veteran acting star of “30 Rock” fame took to Twitter on Monday night to express his distaste for a New Yorker piece that mused that had things gone a bit differently in his life, Baldwin might have become the Trump of the left.
“In an alternative universe in which the Democrats, rather than the Republicans, had nominated a charismatic, thin-skinned, and incendiary celebrity as their Presidential candidate, Alec Baldwin could be Donald Trump,” Ian Crouch wrote for The New Yorker on Monday in a piece titled “Alec Baldwin is a perfect Donald Trump.”
Baldwin, who appeared on “Saturday Night Live” as Trump following last Monday’s presidential debate to critical acclaim, seemingly was not amused by comparison, tweeting that he was “so hurt” by the piece, adding: “Don’t I have feelings, too?”

Baldwin even tweeted at Crouch himself, to no avail, later quipping that “you can count on the press” about as much as “a parole officer.”
You can count on the press. Like a parole officer…
