Mike Pence will soon release records from a physical examination he had this summer, spokesman Marc Lotter said Wednesday.
The release comes on the same day that Donald Trump released a letter from his doctor to television host Dr. Mehmet Oz, and Hillary Clinton and her running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine, released some health information.
Pence is now moving forward with releasing information from the exam. The report will be released once his doctor has finished compiling the document, Lotter said. Lotter said the document will be out in “short order” and that the GOP running mate had always intended to do it.
The candidates’ health records have become an issue of growing significance after Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia last week.
Pence has repeatedly said the American people have a right to information about both Clinton’s and Trump’s health. “The public always has a right to know,” he told a crowd in August, and repeated the sentiment in a television interview this week.
Pence released his tax returns last week — something Trump continues to decline to do.
