Should Ben Carson want a spot in Donald Trump’s White House, the retired neurosurgeon and former GOP primary rival would likely get it, the Republican nominee said on Wednesday.
Praising Carson’s performance in the polls and his pleasant demeanor during a speech to pastors in Cleveland, Trump pronounced him “amazing.”
“Not only is he a brilliant guy, but he’s got a brilliant heart. He loves people. And if all of this happens, there will be a great place for Ben,” Trump said.
Carson, who endorsed Trump in March, has repeatedly said that he is not seeking a position in a potential Trump White House.
“I don’t know if he wants that, but I know that he wants to help people,” Trump said. “But there will be a great place.”
